Mon means gateway or entrance and what is a gateway but a step into another place, an entrance from one place to the next. In this case from a mon (junior) grade to a kyu (senior) grade. The Gateway contains those techniques required for grading up to 1 mon excluding kata. With approximately 500 black and white photographs of the techniques and a little explanation, in Swedish and English, it will guide you through the basic techniques.
